Ratera braiding machines are ideal for creating any type of braid for passementerie. Although most decorative braids are made with conventional machines for round, flat, or tubular cords. Ratera also offers special machinery for very particular constructions, such as Soutache, Indian braid, or President.

We customize our machines depending on your needs
Some examples of the special braiding machines that Ratera offers are:
- Soutache Braiders: The carriers move in the shape of an 8, all in the same direction. Optionally, 2 cores can be incorporated. The machines are available with various numbers of carriers: 3, 5, 7, 9, etc., up to 21.
- Indian Braid: With carriers holding the bobbin in a horizontal position, this machine is ideal for braiding flat leather tapes and making round braided leather loops.
- Diamond Braiding : This braider is very similar to flat braiding, but, with a geometry of carriers and plates, achieves a diamond pattern in the braiding.
- President Braiding: The final product has a flat appearance with a special combination of colors.
- Flat and Round Braiding. This machine constructs a single cord that has a flat part and a round part along the braid. The union of the two parts is made in the same machine by braiding. A very common example is the 25 x 19B-E80 braider.
